New Trainee at Fairweathers Solicitors LLP

We are delighted to announce that Shantala Heath joins us today as a Trainee Solicitor.

Shantala graduated from the University of Kent with a first class honours degree in law in the summer of 2006.

Subsequently, she worked as a law lecturer and chief examiner for the Institute of Legal Executives whilst studying herself part time on the LPC course which she passed with a distinction in the summer of 2010.

She joins us from national law firm, Boyes Turner and will be working with our Clinical Negligence and Mental Health teams up until qualifying next summer when it is envisaged that she will take up a position as a Solicitor in the Medical Negligence Department.

Chief Executive, Nick Fairweather, commented:-

“Shantala is a wonderful appointment.

Many of us knew her from her time as a student locally when she was actively involved in the Kent Law Clinic which the partnership strongly supports.

Indeed, she won the Vizards Wyeth Student Pro Bono prize in 2005 and followed that up the following year by winning the Anthony London prize for best final year examination result in Elliot College.

Her academic background and the experience she has already had in dealing with medical cases makes her an ideal addition to the team as our Medical Negligence Department continues to expand”.

Shantala herself commented:-

“I am delighted to be returning to Canterbury and to be joining everyone at Fairweathers Solicitors LLP.  They are the leading firm in Kent for clinical negligence claims and are a professional but friendly and progressive firm. I am very excited to be joining the partnership”.
