Kate Virica joins Fairweathers

We are delighted to announce that Kate Virica has today joined our clinical negligence team from national law firm Simpson Millar LLP solicitors.

Kate qualified in 1996 and has worked for trade union firms, throughout her career, representing members in high value and complex employers’ liability claims including those involving industrial disease.

She has experience of class actions and establishing and supervising large specialist teams of lawyers.

Her reported cases include:-

McKay v (1) Hamlani and (2) Direct Line Insurance Plc 2008 and Sweet v The Owners of Blythe Lifeboat 2002

From 2011-2013 she Chaired an Inquiry into and reported on Mental Healthcare Provision by Tees ESK and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust.
