Solicitors Standards Lexcel

A Canterbury law firm has become the first in the country to achieve a new Law Society quality standard.

Fairweathers in Station Road West has become the first to achieve the Society’s latest version of the practice quality standard called ‘Lexcel’. The standard is only awarded to solicitors who meet the highest standards of customer care and the firm was required to undergo a rigorous independent assessment.

Andrew Holroyd, President of the Law Society said “Fairweathers has become the first to be awarded accreditation against Lexcel version 4. Currently it is not mandatory to be assessed against the new standard. This is a clear sign that the practice is committed to providing client service excellence, managing risk and enhancing their business management.”

Darren Tamplin, partner at Fairweathers said the firm was “extremely proud” and added that less than 10 per cent of all law firms are Lexcel accredited – against other previous versions. The firm has specialist solicitors practising in areas of medical negligence, family law and employment disputes.
