23rd May 2022 – We are delighted to announce that Nick Fairweather today became the 203rd President of Kent Law Society.

He takes over from immediate past President Alexandra Gordon, of Brachers, and before her Emma Palmer of Whitehead Monckton both of whom served extended terms to get the Society through the Covid pandemic. Nick warmly praised both at the Society’s AGM today for their service in such difficult times. He also welcomed Louise Duckett of Stilwell & Singleton as his Vice President for the year.

The AGM took place at the Mercure Hotel Maidstone, followed by the Society’s first live Annual Dinner event for 3 years, jointly hosted by Nick and Alexandra, which was attended by no fewer than 322 people with our honoured guest being the Deputy Lieutenant of Kent, Her Honour Adele Williams, with Rob Rinder MBE compering the evening including presenting trophies to winners across 6 award categories.

Nick’s charity for the year is Prostate Cancer UK and his theme for the year is legal education and access into the profession.

Nick commented:- “It is a great honour to become President of the Kent Law Society. I am grateful for all the support we have had in arranging the dinner and am overwhelmed by the many messages of encouragement received from members across the county. I am looking forward to meeting as many of our members as possible at the various events that are being planned across my Presidential term”.
