Firm successfully tenders for 500 new matter starts in Family work

We are delighted to be able to announce that our bid for Family new matter starts has been successful, this providing us with a permanent Family contract with the LSC.We bid for between 200 and 500 new matter starts and were granted 500 covering all three procurement areas in Kent.

The contract will begin from April next year.

In the meantime, our temporary contract will continue.

Our bid stressed our ability to meet the LSC’s key national objectives and the grant recognises, in particular, our expertise in domestic violence work.

The contract will involve outreach working and we shall be concentrating on the areas of Dover, Ashford and Shepway, as well as maintaining our busy department in Canterbury.

Gemma Duckworth, Head of our Family Department, commented “We are delighted with this LSC grant of such a large Family case load. It is a considerable achievement given that our Department was only established back in May of last year. Since securing our temporary contract in August, we have been inundated with work, confirming that there is a high level of need for Publicly Funded Family services.

We shall be recruiting new members of staff in advance of April and look forward to continuing to deliver a quality service under this permanent contract, both locally, within the Canterbury area, and beyond.

The grant is testimony to all the hard work put in by all members of the Department here at Fairweather & Co.”
