Fairweathers Solicitors LLP, the medical negligence specialists, based at Estuary View in Whitstable are sponsoring and supporting a social group called Talk It Out based in Deal.
Talk It Out is a social group for those who suffer from mental health difficulties and their carers.
Shantala Heath, Medical Negligence Solicitor at Fairweathers, pictured above, was delighted to present the cheque to Talk It Out at one of the self-funded Thursday sessions, which are usually held from 6.30pm to 8.30pm at St George’s Church, High Street, Deal.
The sessions have a broad range of activities for members, including quiz and bingo nights, informal ‘tea and talk’ sessions, guest speakers, walks, reiki, ‘issues and developments in mental health services’ forums with Speak UP CIC, and a Facebook page to stay in touch when members are not able to join them in person.
The aim of the group is to reduce isolation and loneliness for current sufferers and to raise an awareness generally surrounding mental health issues.
The founder of Talk It Out, Tracy Carr, is also involved in campaigns surrounding mental health related issues such as the current campaign against closing the mental health unit in Deal.
If you are interested in sponsoring or getting in touch with Talk It Out please contact Tracy on 07923 096273.
