Fresh back from the Christmas break, over the past two days we have undergone an extensive appraisal of all the firm’s policies and procedures by external auditors authorised by the Law Society and the International Organisation for Standardization. At the end of this extensive two day process, the auditors found no areas of non compliance and have recommended the firm for both the Lexcel and ISO 9000 accreditations.
The grant of these accreditations now becomes a formality.
The auditors recognised and praised the firm’s management and financial controls, the excellent feedback through client satisfaction questionnaires, the good levels of communication throughout the firm, its stringent money laundering policies and its community and social responsibility work.
Senior Partner, Nick Fairweather commented:- “This is great news for the firm and its clients. The audit took place under the new Lexcel standard (version 4) and we must have been one of the first firms in the country (if not the first) to be successfully audited under the standard, given that it was only introduced at the beginning of this year.
The award of these accreditations, once confirmed, is a significant achievement.
Very few firms indeed have the Lexcel accreditation. I believe there are fewer than 10 in the whole of Kent.
The accreditations provide an independent guarantee to everyone we work with, most importantly our clients, that we are running an efficient practice in all its aspects – from management and finances, through all the regulatory requirements and, most importantly, in terms of client care and the quality of the service to our clients.
A great deal of time and planning went into our application which involved every single member of staff.
Our success in this audit is a tribute to the commitment and hard work of everyone here at Fairweather & Co.”
