Clinical Negligence

We are accredited by the Legal Services Commission to represent patients who have suffered because of sub-standard hospital or GP treatment.

We deal with the full range of clinical areas including high value claims involving serious and fatal injuries.

Our team include Nick Fairweather who has been a member of the Law Society's specialist Clinical Negligence Panel since 1999.

Personal Injury

We are specialist Personal Injury lawyers with members of staff belonging to the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers.

We are is accredited by the Legal Services Commission to represent people detained under the Mental Health Act.

Mental Health is a demanding area of law where clients are generally in a highly vulnerable situation.

All 3 members of the Department are on the Law Society Mental Health Review Tribunal Panel.

We visit clients at the earliest opportunity to explain their rights, procedures, timetabling and any other queries. We then investigate the case thoroughly, keeping the client fully informed. Ultimately, the client will be represented at the final hearing by one of our specialist team members.

Where appropriate, court applications for judicial review are made, for example if we view a detention as being unlawful.

In R (KB and others) v Mental Health Review Tribunal and Secretary of State for Health, Una Turner successfully represented a client in a group action concerning delays in hearings taking place which established clear listing guidelines and the right to damages in delayed cases.

We provide an efficient and sympathetic service around all issues arising out of divorce and other relationship breakdown. We are experienced in matters of divorce, separation, disputes between cohabitants, child contact and residence arrangements, financial disputes and injunctions.

Our team includes Gemma Duckworth who is a member of the Law Society Family Law panel and Resolution and Solicitor Gemma Purt who specialises in private client family work. They are supported by a strong team of paralegals. Our approach is professional and sensitive; we recognise everyones experience of separation is different and we will provide you with realistic advice in relation to your individual circumstances.
